Frequently asked questions

What devices does EmberCoves run on?

EmberCoves is built natively for iOS 26 and later. It runs on iPhone — iPad support is on the roadmap.

Is there an Android version?

No — and we're not planning one. EmberCoves is built natively for iOS with Swift 6 and SpriteKit for the performance and feel a tile sandbox deserves.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. The single-player game is fully local — worlds, inventory, and progress all live on your device, with no accounts, signup, or telemetry. Optional multiplayer is planned for the future, which would require sign-in and internet for those features only. The solo experience stays offline-first, always.

How do I save the game?

It saves automatically. The game persists your world, inventory, time of day, and player position continuously. Close the app and pick up where you left off.

Are my worlds stored in iCloud?

Not yet. Worlds live in the app's local storage. iCloud sync is on the roadmap.

How do I start a new world?

From the title screen, tap New World. Each world has a unique seed — the same seed always produces the same world, so you can share favorites with friends.

How do I chop a tree or mine stone?

Walk next to it, then tap the tree or stone tile. Bare-handed it takes a few hits — with the right tool, just one. Mining stone requires a pickaxe; digging sand requires a shovel.

How do I plant berries?

Stand on a tilled dirt tile next to water and tap it while you have a berry in your inventory. The bush will grow and ripen over time — tap a ready bush to harvest.

How do I pause the game?

The pause button is in the top-left of the HUD. The game also pauses automatically when you switch apps or lock your phone.

The camera is far from my character — how do I find them?

Tap the scope button (top-right corner of the HUD) to recenter the camera on your player.
